Risk Analyst
My Time covered three broad areas: Risk Reporting, Strategic Transactions, and Ad Hoc tasks:• Risk Reporting: - Horizontal Review: The goal was to ensure that regions were aligned with Group Risk Appetite Metrics. This is resulted in several key differences from being identified and processes where set up to address the differences. - Assurance: The goal was to ensure each regions Risk Appetite practices aligned with Group. Collated the responses and chased to ensure we had assurance. Created a pro-con list, with support, to determine if the process was required which resulted in it being cancelled to eliminate redundancies and help efficiency. - Breach Gap Analysis and risk map analysis: Created an excel and determined challenge questions for stewards. This required collaboration with team members and get their suggestions so that it could be clear to new people. A procedure was created so that is can continue in the future.• Strategic transactions: The goal was to identify key impacted risks and summarize major transactions. This required me to research on my own and reach out to numerous people to ask questions. There were quite a few applications at the same time needing to be complete and I successfully delivered a sufficient summary for the stakeholder to provide approval in the timeline. • Ad hoc tasks: completed other day-to-day tasks that people from the team had asked me to complete. Some of these include: - Emerging Risk Paper: The goal was to create a proposal for a new process of capturing and assessing emerging risks the bank could face. I sought to understand how the bank previously accomplished this and what the shortcomings were. I shared how the proposal would be beneficial to the stakeholders and took feedback. - Provide supporting documentation for Global Business - Participate in testing new business software
