Bill Kolbe is currently the Owner/Operator of WAKOLBE® CONSULTING LLC. Bill’s career in Pest Management started in June 1974. He received his Associate Degree in Animal Science and B.S. in Entomology/Applied Ecology from the University of Delaware and is a Board Certified Entomologist specializing in Industrial / Urban Entomology. Bill is a frequent speaker for NPMA, State Pest Control Associations and has authored many publications in industry trade magazines. In addition, he served as Chairman of the NPCA Vertebrate Committee (1988), and Chairman of the Copesan Technical Committee (1984). Bill edited Chapter 14, ‘Flies,’ for the Ninth Edition of the Mallis Handbook of Pest Control.

1980 - 2003: Corporate Staff Entomologist / Training and Technical Services Manager, Western® Industries, Inc. Duties included technical assistance to 21 branch offices, as well as computer and technical training responsibilities for the company. Bill also provided technical assistance to the Residex Corporation’s 13 warehouse locations, serving the structural pest control industry and Technical and Training to Western Fumigation Incorporated. Oversaw T&T Department to include 4 Regional Entomologist. Aditionally supported Safety and Regulatory issues for Western and Residex.1975 – 1980: Service Supervisor, Western® Termite and Pest Control, West Orange, New Jersey. Duties included field supervision of approximately 18 service technicians in Essex and Morris County. Additional duties included technical assistance to four other Western Branch Offices in Northern New Jersey. Provided technical assistance to Western Fumigation, Residex and Western Bird Division.1974 – 1975: Supervisor in training Western Wilmington branch. Pest Management Training under the guidance of Gary Riccio (Service Supervisor) and Bruce Nelson (Branch Manager). Extensive field experience in all aspects of Pest Management. MILITARY ACHIEVEMENTS:While pursuing a career in Professional Pest Management, Bill completed 28 years of Active Reserve duty in the United States Army Reserve, 78th Division Training , Edison NJ.He retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (0-5) in June 2002. His military career started with his commissioning as a 2nd Lieutenant from the University of Delaware ROTC Program (1974), followed by his Ordnance Officer Basic Course (91B) at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD (Jan-April 1975). In June 1975 he joined the 78th Division Basic Combat Training Division (BCT) and served in the follow capacities:E Company Training Officer,D Company Training Officer, D Company Executive Office,D Company Commander (D/1-311/2/78) 1st Lieutenant /(*Early 0-3 promotion.
