I'm William Ackerman, a tenacious undergraduate senior student at Farmingdale State College working towards a Bachelor of science in Computer programming and information systems. My career interests include web development and database administration, while my research interests include data science.Additionally, I work at Showcase Cinemas Broadway as an usher, am a member of my college's Research Aligned Mentorship program, and am the Vice President of my college's Backstage Theater Company. At Showcase, I work under a supervisor to clean theaters, scan tickets, and ensure patrons have an unforgettable cinema experience. During my current tenure as a member of the RAM Program, I have participated in various events to help prepare myself following graduation. In addition, I have created and presented research posters at various symposiums. Finally, as Vice President of the Backstage Theater Company, I help plan, promote, and manage events. I have used Canva to design promotional materials, including flyers and a playbill.I am currently working towards gaining a better understanding of website development so that I can become a full stack web developer. I am highly proficient in developing and administering databases using SQL, and have been learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for web development. I am a determined individual with strong skills in attention-to-detail and organization seeking to gain research experience in data science.
