As a resident assistant, I worked with residents to develop and maintain an educational environment conducive to the attainment of academic success, individual growth and the development of community expectations. This past semester, I attended to a floor of approximately 40 residents, worked with a peer staff of 9 RAs, and reported directly to a head resident assistant and an Area Coordinator (AC).

As a Sheldon Hackney Fellow, I assisted in the development of marketing materials and supported promotion for the Museum’s summer events, exhibits, and programs. Other responsibilities included participating in the planning, execution, and follow-up of the various events held throughout the summer such as the Evening of Discovery annual gala, fundraising events, private rentals, exhibit openings, lectures, author talks, etc.

As Head Resident Assistant of Figge Hall, an on-campus apartment building for senior class students, I oversaw about 190 residents and supervised a peer staff of 5 RAs. Further responsibilities included the management of Hall Council programming, delegation of administrative tasks to RAs, and assisting with the training of new RAs.
