Analyzing Proterozoic anorthosite and granitic suites in Grenville-aged Pennsylvania and New Jersey crust to better understand their relation to other Proterozoic anorthosite/granitic suites, notably the AMCG suite of the Adirondacks.Requires textural analysis of zircons for LA-ICP-MS geochronology using cathodoluminescence and backscattered electron imaging, and inclusion analysis using energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and backscattered electron imaging. These data will be used to interpret U-Pb ages of different zones. Preparation of rocks for X-ray fluorescence analysis.

Investigated the behavior of strontium and rubidium atoms in order to create a spaceflight-capable spectrometer. The project was selected by NASA’s PRISM to land on the Moon in Q2 2027.Gained an understanding of computer models and of atomic equations of motion in order to be able to model the interaction between light and an 87Sr or 87Rb atom. Used MATLAB to create a working model of a three-level atom, to which the properties of strontium and rubidium were then applied.
