Organized a group of investors, including the Dutch, to form a community S-Corp. bank focused on serving small businesses and professionals, primarily in Buckhead and Sandy Springs, and later in Decatur. Served as CEO in the start-up phase and was Chairman of the Board from 2005 - 2013. Returned as interim CEO from 2013 - 2014 to accelerate the profitability of the SBA business that provided necessary revenue for continued recovery. Successfully re-capitalized and restructured holding company debt in 2017 with Asian investors. Currently serve on the holding company board, Cornerstone Bancshares.

Formed residential mortgage banking entity within Primary Capital, LC, originating over $1.8 billion annually through wholesale, retail and direct channels. Developed wholesale correspondents and a national platform doing business in 23 states and approved by the three major agencies, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and Ginnie Mae. After 14 successful years, sold the business in 2013 to New York REIT.

After the successful sale of HomeBanc to SouthTrust Bank in 1994, the commercial lending group from HomeBanc started Primary Capital, LC, in partnership with the Dutch investor. Over 17 years, the commercial mortgage banking company originated over $1 billion annually in commercial real estate loans. The company was selected as one of 31 Freddie Mac Program Plus sellers originating over $500 million in multi-family loans annually and servicing over $1 billion. Recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine as one the top entrepreneurial, fastest-growing companies. Sold the company in 2011 to Jones, Lang and LaSalle, a global. commercial real estate services company.

Special Representative for a Dutch fund transforming an underdeveloped urban area by connecting it to the Atlanta International Airport through a people-mover allowing for the development of a regional convention center, premium hotel sites and centralized car rental facility.

Joined the bank in 1973 as a loan officer and named head of the lending group in 1977. By 1980, the bank had become the number one residential mortgage lender in Atlanta as well as having a significant presence in residential construction, A&D and multi-family construction lending. Instrumental in converting the bank (the first in Georgia) from a mutual bank to a public bank and later selling it to a prominent Dutch investor. To increase the new shareholders' value, transitioned to lead the retail bank side and expanded the bank from primarily being a mortgage banking company to a full-service commercial bank with a cohesive branch system in targeted affluent markets. During tenure, the bank grew four-fold from $100 million to a $400 million community bank. In 1994, bifurcated the bank into a retail bank and mortgage company and sold the retail bank to SouthTrust Bank of Georgia.
