Currently, I am an adjunct professor, teaching management, leadership and organizational behavior at several New England universities. Presently, I am on leave from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University. I am on several nonprofit boards: Homebase, dealing with veteran issues of PTSD and TBI; Harvard University's Legal Services Corporation dealing with veterans outreach; and The Center for the Arts in Natick. I am also on the board of KGA, a human resources consulting firm. I have provided leadership coaching for several individuals and small law firms in the past. Prior to my law firm career I served in the US Army on active duty for 10 years, and in the reserves for another 12. I retired with the rank of Colonel.After 23 years, I retired as the Chief Operating Officer at Bingham McCutchen LLP in 2013. During my transition from the firm, I also served as the Executive Director of Partner Leadership Development, working with younger partners who aspired to leadership positions within the firm. Bingham was among the country's 25 largest large law firms, with more than 900 lawyers located in 16 offices throughout the world. During my tenure at Bingham, the firm was recognized as a Fortune Magazine best place to work for ten years in a row.During my more than 30 years in legal administration, I have written numerous articles on management and strategic planning for national legal publications and spoken frequently at national forums on law firm management. I served as President of the Association of Legal Administrators in 1992-1993. In 2011, I received the "unsung hero" award from the Mass Bar Association. I have taught the COO portion of the law firm masters degree program at GWU for several years. I was appointed as the Executive-in-Residence at Wentworth Institute of Technology for two years, 2012-13. I have served as a Fellow and former Trustee of the College of Law Practice Management and a member of the Hildebrandt Client Advisory Board.
