Supervise a staff of 20+ armed security personnel, who are responsible for the protection of the campus at The Music Center as well as the 12-acre Grand Park located in downtown Los Angeles. I oversee the day to day operation of an 8-hour shift which includes daily post checks, providing commendations or discipline, ensuring shift personnel have the appropriate training and resources needed, and responding to emergent calls for service when required. Some of my other duties include reviewing daily paperwork and reports for thoroughness and accuracy, issuing firearms and other equipment to personnel, conducting investigations into policy violations and possible crimes reported on property, performing administrative tasks utilizing Microsoft Office, serving as back-up to the department scheduler, conducting interviews for potential new hires, and communication with the Commander of Field Operations concerning the operation of the overall department and shifts.

Core duties included developing and implementing standardized scheduling operations utilizing written communication and computer technology, processing and vacation and sick time off requests in compliance with company policy and state and federal law, ensuring strong communication between the different branches of the department to avoid costly scheduling issues, and training all personnel on the basic principles of scheduling to avoid misunderstandings in procedure. I was also responsible for providing adequate staffing levels for large annual events to ensure no service failures were experienced. Other duties included responding to emergent calls for service as necessary and training new hire personnel concerning scheduling policy and procedure.

Duties included working with the Production Manager to ensure fast, high-quality production of print orders that came through the department, delegation of daily work to ensure correct production of orders by the requested due date, the creation and implementation of policies to help the department run effectively, processing copy requests from multiple clients including the University of Southern California, the operation of high volume black and white printers, color copiers, and a Ryobi four color digital press, and training new personnel on production processes and operation of printers.
