During the summer months while teaching, I lead groups on trail-rides in New Mexico's Carson National Forest. Very enjoyable. Of course there was more to it than leading groups. There was the very early morning of feeding the stock, "tacking out" 25-30 horses each day, breaking them down end of day and feeding again. There was the matching of riders to horse and the awesome job of keeping the corral clean! Twelve to fourteen hour days were normal but in the end, worth every moment.

Retired from teaching World Geography (9th grade) and World History (10th grade) at the end of the 2011-2012 school year. Currently, substituting on occasion for former co-teachers. Recently, as long-term substitute, taught English (10th grade).

Retired from Avaya having held many different positions in Western Electric, Southwestern Bell, AT&T, Lucent Technologies. For Western Electric positions included Management Trainee, line supervisor, Public Relations Representative, and Employee Services Supervisor. Position held while with Southwestern Bell were PBX Traffic Engineer and District Staff Manager. Positions held while at AT&T and Lucent Technologies were Staff Manager-Logistics, Staff Manager Services (representing services organization on product team) and Staff Manager-Business and Strategic Planning. Prior to the Avaya spin-off, held the positions of District Financial Manager and Interim District Manager for the Small Business Systems Division.
