Reliability Engineer
CurrentMaintenance engineer in the Power and Recovery section of the pulp mill. Main focus is eliminating repeat safety and maintenance threats to the area through design improvements. The equipment types include pressure equipment, pressure vessels, boilers, pumps, turbines, motors, conveyors, lifting devices, structures and tools. The design process starts with gathering data on failures. The next step is looking for solution which were successful in other mill areas, other pulp mill facilities, or completely different industries. Next I create drawings and design of the proposed change using AutoCAD or Solidworks and review these design options with lead process operators, area millwrights, welders, and electricians. When the parties are in agreement with the proposed change, I submit documentation through either the maintenance CMMS system or create a capital justification for completing the work. The fabrication and installation is reviewed and refined until the safety or reliability threat is completely removed.
