Supervision and oversight of the Transmission System

• Supervises electricians and line personnel in the repair, maintenance and installation of electrical distribution and transmission systems• Makes decisions regarding hiring, evaluating, promoting, and terminating employees• Schedules, assigns, plans and monitors the work of the Line department personnel while they perform their job-related projects• Maintains time, payroll, work order, material, equipment and other electrical shop records and submits reports Trains and communicates to employees of the new work methods or procedures, safety regulation changes and work policy enhancements• Ensures budgeting guidelines are met, prioritizes shop expenditures to manage the budget and assists in the preparation of capital and operational budgets• Interprets department policies to assigned personnel and enforces the safety regulations and adherence to proper codes and stand

• Accepted responsibility for the operation of the electrical system on assigned shift• Monitored and evaluated the condition of the distribution systems on a continuous basis, anticipating potential operating and loading problems• Implemented approved strategies to mitigate or react to adverse system conditions• Monitored and controlled the electric system using the EDS system to ensure that compliance standards were met• Evaluated and took necessary action to ensure that the distribution system operated in a safe, reliable, stable and efficient manner and adhered to normal and emergency procedures• Expedited the restoration of service to all customers, minimizing the scope of any system upset or service interruption and limiting potential damage to utility infrastructure• Reviewed the requests for planned and emergency electric equipment outages, analyzed its effect on system reliability, wrote the switching order and executed the switching procedure• Maintained continuous circuit diagrams and records of the status of all switches and other electric equipment• Maintained a clear and detailed record log of all activities on the electrical system• Responded to customer outages, directed field crews to inspect and report on problems, maintained records of outages and analyzed the effect of outages on system reliability• Operated field equipment through SCADA

Maintained the underground electrical distribution system• Removed and installed all underground primary and secondary cable• Maintained and installed all URD (direct buried) system including single and three phase equipment• Installed network transformers and single and three phase services• Worked with all types of cable, including but not limited to, Polly, EPR, Lead and Asbestos• Held a IBEW journeymans card

Maintained the underground distribution system in a reliable and safe manner• Installed all single and three phase services within the underground system• Maintained the secondary network system which included re-crabbing of service boxes and manholes• Spliced all types of cables, including Polly, EPR, asbestos and paper and lead insulated cable, and all sizes from #1 to 1000mcm copper and aluminum• Qualified to operate cable and environmental flush trucks• Worked around the clock at the World Trade Center after 9/11 to rebuild the underground network system• Held a IBEW journeyman card • Completed a Cable Splicer apprentice program/school
