Founded in 1958, Volunteer Center Orange County has a 50–year track record of encouraging people to become personally involved in making our community a good and welcoming place to live, work, and raise a family. The Center strengthens our communities by mobilizing volunteer action and accelerating nonprofit success. The Center is the fifth largest and most comprehensive of the 350 volunteer centers nationwide. The Center enjoys a partnership with Points of Light Foundation and Hands On Network. Appointed by Edmund G. Brown, Jr., Governor of the State of California, as one of seven members to the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Santa Ana Region. The mission of the board is to ensure the highest reasonable quality for waters of the State, while allocating those waters to achieve the optimum balance of beneficial uses.Each Regional Board makes decisions for its region, including setting standards, issuing permits, determining compliance with those standards, and taking appropriate enforcement actions.The Santa Ana region extends from the San Bernardino and San Gabriel mountains in the north and east to the Newport Bay along the coast. The region covers approximately 3,000 square miles and has a population of roughly 5 million people.

The Orange Children and Parents Together, Inc. provides early childhood and family support programs to at-risk children and families. The organization is fully accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The organization operates seven Child Development Centers in the cities of Orange, Garden Grove, and Tustin, California

Mr. von Blasingame joined Mirant in 2005 as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Caribbean. In this role, he had profit-and-loss responsibility for Mirant’s operation and investments in the Caribbean region which included three integrated utilities and two long-term power purchase agreements. The assets have a generating capacity of over 2,000 megawatts (MW) and serve 600,000 retail, commercial and industrial customers. Mr. von Blasingame also served as a member of Mirant’s management council

.1999-2005: Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Edison Mission Asia, Pte. Singapore. Responsible for accounting, budgeting, tax structuring, project finance, and rating agency relations for the Asia Pacific region. The region included Australia, China, India, Indonesia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines.1995-1999: Vice President, Project Finance, Edison Mission Energy Asia, Pte. Singapore. Negotiated debt and equity structures for projects for the region. Facilitated government support arrangements as required in each country. Coordinated regional relations with commercial banks, institutional investors, rating agencies, and multilateral and bilateral agencies. Managed the implementation of structures that allowed for the first large scale private power project financing in both Indonesia and Thailand.
