Using a wealth of experience to draw from in all the Major western and central US basins I help large and small operators optimize performance of the oil and gas resources specializing in shale and ultra-tight reservoirs, both sand and shale. Many engineers understand the total reserves in place and the recoverable portion of those reserves but fail to adequately account for the actual production profile and withdrawal rates coming from the reservoir. This leads to lost opportunity and value when the project economics are initially underestimated. When the economics are not correctly assessed potential company reserves are unaccounted for in the annual reserves audits. In this era when location inventory is king companies cannot afford to miss opportunities. This principle applies to private equity companies as well.

Confirmed engineering estimates of well performance based on analogous fields and pressure transient analysis for acquisition candidates. Built out development schedules, as well as placed acquisition bid values on solicited and unsolicited acquisition candidates. Worked with geological staff on all potential acquisitions and organic growth developments. Reviewed basin-wide reserve and completion techniques to analyze upcoming best practices to apply internally. Consulted internally with business units on potential acquisition candidates. Evaluated assets for acquisition/acreage trades. Prepared well economics for new development drilling. Ran reservoir analyses, using RTA pressure transient modeling. Oversaw EOY reserves and reconciliation for 4P reserve determination. Led development planning in Haynesville Shale gas play, including development of representative prod profile to accurately represent hydrocarbon withdrawal rates for new well economics. Built out five-year development budget plan with sensitivities for multiple rigs in accelerated timeframe.

Performed combination of reservoir engineering and production engineering analysis for assets in place overseas and later domestically in Anadarko Basin in north central Texas. Worked on reservoir modeling in combination with DCA on problem wells and field foremen and pumpers to improve individual well performance. Recommended further field development through additional drilling of and existing resource in place. Worked on updating offshore platform design and pipeline to deliver processed gas to Cape Town, South Africa. Supervised six reservoir engineers and three engineering techs responsible for a successful 15-rig drilling program, managing reserves estimation for EOY SEC reserves in the Western Business Unit. Prepared the 2 year operating budget and 5 year extended planning budget and managed costs on an ongoing basis to stay within the budget. Set up projects for the Engineering staff to improve business unit performance and expand the size of the business through such projects as continuous well performance analysis, recommendations for new well drilling at reduced costs, workover candidate identifications, and problem well analysis for Permian Basin and western Anadarko Basin. Further business unit responsibilities included determining best development and expansion areas within confines of acreages owned by company; tracking offset developments to grow business unit through acquisition and organic development.

Worked as independent consultant on various projects around U.S. and Mexico, including the design and implementation of a CBM development play in Saltillo Basin in north central Mexico, requiring the drill well design and oversight, completion supervision, and testing wells. Brought in to set up and run the operations department for 200 well acquisition; Hired and trained a field superintendent to turn around an uneconomic high cost CBM operations
