Through the Fast Stream I have been assigned to several major projects: I was first assigned to the FCDO working in their cyber security division as a security architect. I spent 6 months rigorously pushing forward key programs in the improvement on the cyber defence infrastructure of the department and in the re energising projects that had fallen by the wayside. This included introducing biometric security for work devices, pushing for an update regarding cyber security and working with the NCSC to bring in monitoring of systems and servers. My work in my first posting was regarded as high quality and a greater challenge than would be expected to attempt at HEO level, pushing my work into SEO level. My second posting was in HMPPS in an Associate Delivery Manager role. Through this role I worked to mature and develop a mixed team of developers and designers to deliver multiple projects: from the delivery of a cutting-edge book a video link service, to new ways of recording the use of force. Through this I have worked well with external and internal stakeholders to balance multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines. I am familiar and skilled with Agile work: having used Scrum and Kanban. I gained a reputation for diplomacy and the solving of difficult problems. I was responsible for aiding in the delivery of projects on both a departmental and national level, through all of this I was praised for an insightful/calm approach to difficult conversations and my tact with stakeholders. I was pushed to work at SEO level as opposed to the expected HEO level.I am currently assigned to Child Benefit Live Service within HMRC as an IT Services Manager. During my time I have been assigned to a number of projects including educating users of the old legacy Child Benefit system on the changes made with the new Child Benefit service. I’m working on improving HMRC’s data communication with DWP regarding Child Benefit data and how secure customer data is retained.

At Greggs I am responsible for delivering high quality customer service in an environment where I am trusted to work independently and to my own initiative. Part of my job includes ensuring that freshly baked goods are prepared to the required standard and that the standard is maintained for all those sold during the day. I have been [praised for use of initiative and through my work ethic during the short time that I have been there.

As a communicator, I worked with the HSBC Business Account Opening team in order to advise potential customers on how best to open a business account with HSBC as well as updating current applicants to the state of their application when they call in. Part of my job required me to work with databases as well as using the information provided to book customers appointments, take complaints and doing what I could do to make the application process as smooth as possible. Working with the team I have developed my communication skills due to the lack of face to face contact. It is therefore important to develop your tone when in such a role and I have continued to do so. When I have had questions and queries, I have always sought out help and advice from colleagues and superiors.

I worked within a team to provide complex and safe outdoor sessions to children and young adults from 8 to 18. I did 12-hour days on six/five-day weeks rotating. I taught kids from all backgrounds how to push themselves to new heights; sometimes quite literally! Each came with their own challenges, abilities and fears. I also had to be privy to confidential medical information in order to be able to do my job efficiently and professionally. I was part of the stores team, dealing with the maintenance and repair of all of the water sports activities as well as the environmental concerns regarding the lake on the site for a period in 2017. I was a second in command to my line manager which means that I was tasked with dealing with instructor concerns, personal issues and helping with discipline issues. I was also responsible for the tuck shop, as part of that I had to maintain the accounts and I was setting up a merchandise section.

I was responsible for ensuring that research and any speeches for weekly remembrance services was prepared and delivered. I was responsible for much of the research and most of the speeches delivered in the services working off a database compiled by the organisation. I was also responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the services in the absence of my boss and ensuring that everything ticked over without any issues. I helped to deal with regimental organisations as well so I had some experience dealing with outside stakeholders.

I was responsible for maintain an extremely high level of cleanliness with all of the items used in the kitchen to prevent cross contamination.
