I have been writing grants for 7+ years and am passionate about helping mission-based organizations transform their dreams into clearly defined projects that are not only achievable but compelling and competitive in the grant funding process. In total, I have been personally responsible for $7 million in secured awards from foundation, government, and corporate sources. While the fundraising is of course important, my greatest joy comes from getting to know the people, passion, and values behind every mission, and helping those pieces shine across all aspect of the agency. I pride myself in amplifying stories with integrity - celebrating community members as the heroes in their stories - and consider myself a life long learner in equity and community-centric fundraising practices.

I am responsible for managing projects related to grants, whether that be developing the application, ensuring compliance in delivering the proposed activities, or reporting on the project's impact. I actively collaborate with the Grants Team to secure government, foundation, and corporate grants to meet organizational revenue goals. I collaborate with other departments to create grant projects and budgets in the application process, and ensure fulfillment of grant projects, agreements, and outcomes. I work closely with leadership and all departments to support new and enhanced program development and initiatives, strategizing new opportunities while seeking out funding and partnerships that align with our strategic goals and youth-centered service delivery.

I work within a 2 person grants team and am responsible for developing written content, budgets and other assets necessary in creating competitive grant proposals. I communicate and collaborate with development, finance, and program departments to assess grantor giving history, craft compelling language, determine measureable outcomes, create project budgets, and coordinate donor stewardship; ensuring our competitiveness in the grant award process. I enjoy working across departments to collaboratively improve systems and maximize efficiency. When possible, I enjoy joining mentors on outings, cooking for events, and providing music workshops.

 Worked alongside sex worker, migrant, and women’s advocacy groups in researching and authoring two articles featured at the International Conference on AIDS and STIs in South Africa (ICASA 2013) Wrote informational material and statements for ALN, its partner organizations, and ICASA 2013. Drafted grant proposals asking local businesses for their support in funding the Women’s Networking Zone at ICASA 2013 Provided logistical support for the Women’s Networking Zone while representing ALN in its co-host of the ICASA Human Rights Networking Zone with ARASA

Co-taught a small, cohort-like class alongside full-time faculty. The capacity of this position changed depending on the faculty, but overall I was able to design lesson-plans and lead several class sessions, organize events with the students, and served as a peer mentor to assist first-year students adjust effectively to their new academic, social, and collegiate environment.

Painting and re-modeling the exterior of apartment complexes and performing maintenance tasks around apartments (Changing light bulbs, checking furnaces, changing air filters, etc.) Due to weather inconveniences, painting was usually saved for summers. During winter I would help with snow removal and the maintenance duties listed above.

Managing local, college, and professional sports broadcasts. Aiding the airing of local commercials, as well as setting up equipment to record live marching band performances.
