Firepower Control Team Leader - CaptainTasked with being the subject matter expert in Fire Support to Marine Corps units, as well as U.S. Army and foreign military units. Led teams from five to 12 Marines in supporting Iraqi operations in Al Anbar province during the 2006 Surge. Leveraged relationships with Marine, Army, and Air Forces officers in order to ensure that all operations had the necessary air and fire support. Required to be certified to call in air strikes as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) and meet biannual requirements for proficiency. • Developed and executed the Air and Fire Support Plans for the first successful MNC-I level fuel convoy from Ramadi in the west to Bajyi in the north via Baghdad, that resulted in over 20 trucks delivering more than 10,000 gallons of fuel. • Wrote and published the handbook used in all future MNC-I level Ramadi to Bajyi fuel convoys that included POC information, call signs, and radio frequencies for all ground and air units with responsibilities along the route, that allowed for nine future convoys to deliver over 250,000 gallons of fuel to the Al Anbar province. • Built and leveraged relationships with Army and Air Force pilots in the central and northern sectors of Iraq that resulted in air support to Marine fuel convoys when outside of Marine areas of operation. • Analyzed and managed Iraqi army requirements for air and fire support that allowed 1st Brigade, 7th Iraqi Army to conduct its first brigade level operation. -
