About William Broadbent

Taking on challenges is in my DNA. Working to make organizations, people, process, and profit successful is where I have excelled. The ownership model, grit, determination, and disciplined approaches are how I have been able to succeed. I entered the military pre-9-11 wanting to serve my 4 years as a Budget Officer and then enter corporate America. After 9-11, I knew that I could do more for my country. In 2000, the Air Force created a new Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC), or Special Forces career field, called Combat Rescue Officer (CRO), and that is what I wanted to do; the decision was made. The real challenge was learning to swim laps, swim 50 meters underwater, and tread water with my hands out of the water for 2 minutes plus. My determination kicked in and I accomplished my goal. Seven months later, I was selected to for the Indoctrination Course and my journey to become the 61st CRO was underway. Throughout my career, I have had great mentors and leaders shape who I am today. Noticing a hole in next level leadership, I worked with our staff to create training sessions to fill this educational void. The program consisted of 13 hourly sessions that helped develop the necessary skills to advance in their careers. Topics included business acumen, business development process, contract negotiations and terms, and HR scenarios. The program was a success with a number of participants being promoted. In 2020, I took over responsibility for a $280M profit and loss (P&L) center for Jacobs. We had a three struggling contracts within the portfolio. Our CPARS scores were not meeting expectations and our attrition and fill rates were below Jacobs’s standards. In order to turn our performance around, changes needed to be made. We switched our focus from outputs (traditional financial metrics) to inputs (People, Clients, and Processes). One contract was struggling to hire with a fill rate hovering at 82% and an attrition rate over 33%. Working with our leaders, we were able to pull the fill rate to over 95% in 3 months and reduce attrition by 8% points to just over 25%. In the end, CPARS scores on the three struggling contracts went from ‘Satisfactory’ to ‘Very Good’ in a year’s time.Talents & Behaviors:➤ Facilitative and servant leader➤ Comprehensive problem solver➤ Experienced in bringing teams and stakeholders together to work toward a common goal ➤ Data-driven and analytical➤ Disciplined, gritty, driven approachDeals Closed:➤ Ford Motor Company 2023 PO-$35M➤ WDTC DPG-$78M➤ INSCOM GISA & GET TO-$101M➤T4S-$427M➤ PEO Soldier SETA-$165M
