The R&D tax incentive government scheme aims to encourage companies to invest in R&D activities. The role of an R&D consultant is to assist clients in claiming expenditure on related R&D activities. This involves completing process descriptions as per the guidelines set by AusIndustry as well as claiming expenditure in line with ATO guidelines and the relevant legislation.

Tasked with various projects at the Fonterra Stanhope site, the student team and I have been responsible for:1. Improving cheese plant CIP efficiency2. Standardising SAPAC batch code changeovers3. Scoping the feasibility of implementing plantwide caustic recovery mechanisms4. Mapping out a PFD for the salted whey section of the whey room

Required to oversee all analytical related activities. This includes signing off and submitting protocols for managerial approval, updating and editing existing protocols in-line with University policies and guidelines, optimising analytical techniques and liaising with external technical lab BIRA.

A member of the analytical team is required to carry out tasks involved in the technical analysis of beers. Updating protocols, carrying out protocols, optimising and improving analytical techniques are all within the scope of an analytical team member.
