The External Relations Director is responsible for overseeing public relations, managing aspects of charity development and supporting network building. In terms of public relations, this includes marketing strategy, media management and public affairs. In terms of business development, this includes attracting funds and identifying and diversifying revenue streams. In terms of network building, this includes fostering new partnerships, profiling the organisation to relevant audiences and promoting collaborative activities.

The Association of RSLM Practitioners is the licensing body that permits individuals and organisations to utilise the Root Solution – Listening Matters approach.The Association upholds RSLM as a discipline and a force for positive change in our society, specifically promoting:•RSLM education and courses including continuing personal and professional development (CPD).•the sharing of knowledge amongst practitioners•best practice amongst members•tiers of membership (including accreditation)•members and their qualifications to wider audiences•RSLM practice to the widest possible audience as a method of engaging people in positive change.

Community organisers help develop grass-roots movements to bring about social change in local neighborhoods. They identify and develop local leaders in the community and work with them to mobilise members of the community and use the political process to solve social problems. The aim of community organisers is to support people to empower themselves at the local level to drive positive change.

I worked as part of small team of people, delivering work related training and personal mentoring support to Trainee Community Organisers working across the region. The aim was to bring people together, share best practice and to create the maximum benefit from peer to peer learning opportunities.
