*Completed alongside my University degree*The ‘Decarb Connect’ podcast investigates the strategy and deployments around decarbonisation in hard to abate sectors. This part time internship role is designed to improve the quality of the podcast by seeking out interesting guests and stories.- Attended the Decarb Connect event in Manchester which brought together decarbonisation leaders across the UK.- Took on a full time role with additional responsibilities during my final 6 weeks once my degree had been completed.

During my year in industry I attained experience at Dow Silicones, Wales, where I was granted ownership over a plant on the site. Some of my key responsibilities involved:- Day to day monitoring: I took a data based approach alongside frequent plant walks and collaboration with operators to predict process, quality and equipment upsets. - Investigatory work: Utilised all tools at my disposal, including collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary team to solve complicated problems. - Project work: Led/co-led a number of interesting projects whilst facilitating larger, more capital intensive ones. - Documentation: Ensured the safety of the operators through procedure writing, development of compatibility charts, training manuals, etc. This work contributed to the continued safe and reliable operation of my assigned plant during my time at Dow.

As a full time Crew Member at Five Guys, I was an integral part of a fast-paced and customer-focused restaurant team. I was signed off on all units during my time at the restaurant, enabling me to be a versatile and effective member of the team. Some of my key responsibilities included:- Customer Service Excellence: Provided prompt and effective service whilst effectively addressing customers inquiries. - Team Collaboration: Communicated effectively to ensure good quality food was always provided on time.- Safety Awareness: Prioritised safety in all tasks, following established guidelines and procedures.

During my time as an After-School Club Leader at the Robert Piggott Primary School, I played an important role in creating an engaging and enriching environment for young students outside their school hours. Key highlights of my role include:- Supervision and Safety: Ensured a safe and secure environment by closely supervising students during activities, and following the school protocols.- Engagement and Inclusivity: I fostered positive relationships with students, encouraged active participation and provided assistance to children with varying needs and abilities.
