Lead of compliance, risk management and internal control projects for the Latin America and Caribbean division with over $1.3 billion in revenue and 49 BUs. Managing the SOX-404 testing program; Implementation of Risk and Control Matrix for several countries with over 2,000 controls implemented; Implementation of Control Self-Assessment Methodology; Assessment of Corporate Policies, Audit Preparation Projects, and Audit Actions Monitoring. Supporting the division to improve its internal control environment over revenue quality, expense forecasting, budgeting, capital spending, pricing, strategic sourcing, operations, dangerous goods and safety engineering. Managing team members based in Miami, Mexico City and Sao Paulo. Support Divisional President and Vice Presidents in short and long-term compliance strategic decision making.

• Supporting the FedEx Board of Brazil, Andean and South America to develop and maintain an adequate Internal Controls environment over the region including Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, Uruguay, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Paraguay.• Leading the implementation of a compliance agenda within 40 functional areas involving approximately 70 team members.• Ensuring that compliance actions have a clear leader, ownership from other involved areas, teamwork and effective communication. • Launched of a biweekly compliance reporting for the regional VP level demonstrating the progress of compliance actions providing visibility and transparency of compliance matters.• One year after the creation of the compliance agenda, a total of 71 compliance issues have been closed and, in addition, a pre-audit awareness process has been implemented to continuously reassess the risks of the processes.• Leading the SOX testing agenda for Brazil and South America.• Leading the FedEx Finance Policy Manual implementation for Latin America & Caribbean.

Being responsible for Risk Management & Internal Controls activities in Brazil, Chile and Argentina.

• Followed up on FedEx and TNT internal audit open items. Supported the reduction of 64 open items to 37 in 6 months.• Appointed as the TNT representative for the LAC South Cone to roll out some FedEx Policies and Procedures and the International Profit Manual for example Section 2 - Capital & Leases and 5 - Travel & Entertainment.• Supported the monitoring of internal controls over financial reporting as per SOX 404 standards for TNT Brazil, resulting in no issues identified by the external audit company. • Supported the reduction of 15 SOX issues in 3 months in FedEx Chile when the TNT Brazil Risk Management and Internal Controls Group started to monitor FedEx Chile.• Supported the implementation of the Segregation of Duties Project in Finance, HR and Operations at TNT Brazil in which no issues have been identified by external audit company.• Supported the Operations Board and the Pricing Board of TNT Brazil in the implementation of policies and internal controls related to Manual Pricing Adjustment at TNT Brazil, improving the controls and monitoring.• Appointed as leader of the project that mapped conflicts of interest at TNT Brazil, supporting HR and Legal. As a result, HR policies were reviewed, including the implementation of a pre-screening conflict of interest checking for new hires.

• Managed approximately 30 external audit engagements, by analyzing systems and procedures related to corporate finance. As a result, user understanding of policies and compliance to standards improved.• Acted as an in-charge auditor for large and medium size customers such as Abril Publishing, Total Express Transportation, Heinz Co. and Yahoo, leading teams from 5 to 15 people.• Conducted training focused on the best internal control practices for auditors in Brazil with classes of up to 50 people.

• Supported the development of revenue indicators such as RPK, RPC, RPP and profitability, as well as pricing and discount procedures.• Acted as an in-charge of the project that evaluated outsourcing labor versus maintaining staffing in-house.• Appointed as the key finance user to support the implementation of ERP-BGM Globus.

• Supported the creation of a business unit focused on delivering packages, being the field sales responsible for developing the Sao Paulo market.• Supported the creation of a franchising model to expand corporate presence closer to the customer base.

During this period, I was in charge of coordinating the National School of Logistics – ENASLOG and expansion of Corporate Members from the Brazilian Logistics Association.Main activities performed:• Coordination of ENASLOG - Escola Nacional de Logística (National School of Logistics)• Organization of the ASLOG Procurement, Logistics Costs and Legislation Committees• Business development for the expansion of corporate membership and events sponsorship, including Vale do Rio Doce, Braspress, BIC, Panalpina, Sony, Grupo Pão de Açúcar, AMBEV, ID Logistics, and UPS.
