IT consultant, working primarily in the credit union sector. My main client is Access Credit Union (formally Skibbereen & Bandon Credit Union), where I work with the management team to ensure their infrastructure is safe and secure and I advise them on IT projects.

As a senior software engineer I was involved in all aspects of the software development lifecycle from analysis and design through build, test and deployment. In this role I headed up development teams. As team lead I was responsible for developing a good team-working environment and for mentoring new team members.My chief expertise is in Microsoft .NET technologies. I have experience in developing web, windows forms and server applications in this technology. I also worked in other technologies such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and Java. My job also required knowledge of Microsoft and UNIX operating systems, XML and JSON web services, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Active Directory.

As a telecommunications technician I worked in various roles and with numerous technologies. My primary role was as a technician in a telephone exchange. I also worked on business telephone systems and on telecommunication transmission equipment. In this role at times I worked directly with customers, at other times I worked in a technical support role. During this period I developed an in-depth knowledge of telecommunications switching and networks.
