I am a fourth generation funeral director in the community of Trail, BC. Starting at the funeral home part time at the age of 12 as a maintenance person. Graduating from J.L. Crowe Secondary School in 1985 then apprenticing at McPherson Funeral Service in Cranbrook, BC graduating in 1987 as a licensed funeral and embalmer.Then moved to Kamloops, BC working as a funeral director embalmer at Schoenings Funeral Service in 1987 until 1989 when I moved back to Trail to manage Carberry's Funeral Home which my family had sold to Service Corporation International Canada.Then in 2000 left Carberry's Funeral Home to purchase Personal Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services, Trail, BC, known as Clark's Funeral Services today. In 2009 along with business partner John Chasca purchased Carberry's Funeral Home and Crematorium, Trail, BC as well as Castlegar Funeral Chapel, Castlegar, BC. Most recently purchasing Thompson Funeral Service and Crematorium, Nelson., BC and Valley Funeral Home, Nakusp BC. in November of 2014. Over the past number of years I have Chaired a variety of boards which included the Trail Rotary Club, Greater Trail Retirement and Housing Society, Christina Sands Estates Society and past Chair of the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital and Health Foundation. Actively served on the boards of Birch Bank Golf Course, Provincial Funeral Directors Association as well as other groups. Currently the Membership Chair of the Cremation Association of North America.Active golfer, outdoors person, motorcycle enthusiast and enjoy time at Christina Lake.
