Right To Play is a global organization that protects, educates and empowers children to rise above adversity using play. By harnessing play, one of the most powerful and fundamental forces in a child’s life, we helped 2.3 million children last year to stay in school and out of work, to prevent life-threatening diseases like HIV and malaria and to stay safe from exploitation and abuse. We are the only global development organization focused exclusively on using play to transform the lives of children and youth impacted by poverty, war, disease and inequality.As the Director of Development, I lead on day-to-day development efforts to build and implement a comprehensive and strategic fundraising plan, with a focus on individual giving and unrestricted revenue through major and mid level gifts, mass market appeals and events. I also liaise with the Board to strengthen existing relationships with funders and build relationships with a broader and more diverse funding base.

As the Director of Peer-to-Peer Fundraising, I am responsible for overall strategic direction and day-to-day management of a national series of Walks, a Research Ride, endurance events and over 20 Fundraise Your Way events. I develop comprehensive donor/participant engagement strategies, including communication plan to engage, coach and steward all participants in achieving their fundraising goals, as well as develop and manage corporate engagement strategies.I manage a portfolio of corporate, patient and community donors with responsibility for raising budgeted revenue for individual and overall walk/ride/endurance programs, as well as working with my colleagues in a moves management strategy to establish prospects for increased giving and involvement.I partner with Marketing and Communications leadership to increase brand awareness and visibility in target markets, I am responsible for high level volunteer recruitment, training, coaching and management, and stewardship, including identifying and managing event-based volunteer leadership.I have a Proficiency in TeamRaiser, Luminate Online and Raiser’s Edge NXT, MS Office suite, Adobe Suit as well as Facebook and Instagram and knowledge of Salesforce and Guest Manager.

Organize and implement annual agency fundraising plan to meet and exceed a 2.8 million dollar net budget, including all aspects of special events, agency/event marketing and media plans, major gifts, annual appeals and direct mail campaigns, planned giving. As the Director of Development, I was also responsible for the oversight and management of grants renewal and foundation prospecting, donor relations, recruiting and training staff, committee members and volunteers. Ensuring that all arrangements, details and follow-up activities are completed and consistent with agency and department objectives, policies, practices and approval procedures.

Regional - Oversaw offices in Oregon, Washington, Alaska and No. California with combined budgets of over 8 million dollars, managed staff of 50, launched numerous successful new fundraising projects, and handled conference and golf tournament arrangements for 10 to 300 guests. Developed strategies for combined district projects. Lead and trained district directors on budgeting, management and priority programs.District-Directed seven social events, three major letter campaigns and four priority programs to achieve a 1.5 million dollar net fundraising budget, manage a staff of 7-12 employees – both development staff and patient service providers and coordinate up to 300 volunteers, Review and report financial projections monthly & quarterly, coordinate new programs, attend and chair weekly operational meetings to insure timely execution of work, coordinate with diverse groups for the common good of the agency. In f ’01 my office was ranked number one by increasing net by 32% over prior year.
