Per-Se acquired NDC Health in 2006 and Per-Se was purchased by McKesson (NYSE Symbol = MCK) in 2007. Prior to joining Per-Se, William held two positions with MedPartners including Vice President of Information Systems and Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions. A Print and Mail operation that generated $28 million in revenue and $3 million in EBITDA2. A hospital revenue cycle management unit that generated $16 million in revenue and $6 million in EBITDA3. A medical claims clearinghouse that generated $7 million in revenue and $2 million in EBITDA4. A Practice Management Software Service Bureau to physicians that generated $9 million in revenue and $1 million in EBITDAIn 1999, Medaphis sold off the hospital collection agency and the information technology consulting units and formed three operating divisions:1: The Physician Billing Service, 2: the Health Care Systems Software Division, and 3: the e-Health Division. In early 2004 after selling off components of the Software Division, Per-Se Technologies merged the e-Health Division with the remains of the Software Division to form the Hospital Services Division. in 2004 – William was Senior Vice President of the managed care software business unit as well as large payer relationships within the medical and hospital clearinghouse units of Per-Se’s Hospital Division.

Caremark was purchased by CVS (NYSE Symbol = CVS) in 2007. As Vice President of Information Systems, William had responsibility for all information system functions and responsibility for the billing and collecting for over 3000 providers all through the United States through regional billing offices. During William’s 4 years at MedPartners, revenue grew from $300,000 to $6 billion. As Vice President of Information System from 1994 through 1997, William had responsibility for the information system and billing/ collecting for over 3000 providers all through out the United State including sizeable emergency medicine provider organizations. The organization that William had responsibility for would install electronic medical record systems, train the physicians and staff on the electronic medical records and practice management systems, and bill for and collect through regional billing offices. William spoke quite frequently at Wall Street analyst meetings during his tenure as Vice President of Information Systems. MedPartners went through two large mergers including the initial merger with Mulliken Medical out of Long Beach, CA and subsequently with Caremark out of Chicago, IL. During these larger mergers William and his team were tasked with the strategic direction of assimilating redundant system and leverage any core strengths and capabilities that existed. William decided to leave Medpartners when it appeared that their proposed merger with Phycor was not going to close.
