Over the past twenty plus years, I have worked on numerous interior design and architecture building typologies. Starting with my medical upbringing and science background as reference I have worked on two hospital facilities; most recently the New St. Paul’s Hospital with HDR Architecture. For numerous multi-unit residential buildings, I have designed complete interiors construction documents & managed through construction administration, including a comprehensive development at the KAFD 60 tower site in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for which I travelled to the site five times for reviews and oversight. At previous employers, I worked on multiple high security (CISD Reliability Status) projects and financial institutions for complete tenant improvement renovation and furniture packages. As a Senior Interior Designer, I am a skilled space planner, creative problem solver and have taken on roles well beyond my current title - leading me to now head the interiors team at Parkin Architects where I will be mentoring, training and leading the design of projects - starting with the New Surrey Hospital. In past roles, I have been the internal IT coordinator; the marketing proposals content developer, redesigning InDesign graphics, proposal layouts and templates. As one to innovate and having a preference for rational order, I initiated the reorganization of internal & cloud server folder structures, established a marketing image library for which I developed a nomenclature standard, insisted on brand management oversight, created a directory of marketing projects, and created parametrically dynamic BIM families for what became the office Revit BIM family library. Now I will use these skills to mentor the design team and guide the design and document quality.A skilled space planner, I bring to each project a comprehensive awareness of space and human dynamics. With a keen attention to detail, I am passionate about the possibilities that BIM and enhanced project understanding bring to the future of project delivery. Spaces that support a functional programme are delivered with a focus on best practice and value for clients within a framework of sustainability and modernity. Ever interested in learning, I am excited about the possibilities that regenerative design brings to the built environment. With an affinity for enhanced efficiencies, I see opportunities in wood construction and prefabrication to bring a new standard of precision and cost efficiency.
