Employed by three NASA installations over 35 years, I was originally selected to government service under the Presidential Management Intern program in 1981 at the Goddard Space Flight Center, and subsequently moved to NASA Headquarters and Kennedy Space Center, retiring in 2016. I have had responsibilities in resources analysis, cost control, financial business processes, strategic planning, cost estimating services, policy review and analysis, business and commercial development activities, and other external and Agency requirements for many of NASA's most well-known missions, including Cosmic Background Explorer (Nobel Prize), Space Shuttle Program, International Space Station, Spacelab, Hubble Space Telescope, Webb Space Telescope, etc., including agency-wide implementation of financial systems, budgetary processes, commercial pricing policies, and major cost reduction reviews.During the last 10 years of my career, I led the development of the "CFO University," a training curriculum of 11 modules for both the business and technical community surrounding the principles of business processes, cost control, and resources management. Since its inception, I have conducted more than 75% of the 200 training deliveries to more than 6,000 participants.
