As a member of the Partners in Pollution Prevention Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I partnered with Smithfield Foods in Lincoln in an effort to reduce their environmental impact. I analyzed the processes at the plant, consulted with vendors, and provided a detailed report of recommendations for projects to reduce Smithfield's environmental impact while simultaneously saving money.
