I held the esteemed role of State Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for The American Legion, Department of Indiana. Within this capacity, I oversaw operations at two distinct office locations, exercising leadership over a team of 14 employees. My responsibilities extended to the comprehensive management of the Department's administrative functions, catering to a membership base of approximately 75,000 individuals from Indiana.I engaged in dynamic interactions and correspondence spanning all tiers of the organization. This encompassed direct engagement with individual members, interaction with the National organization, collaboration with community and state leaders, as well as communication with elected and appointed officials. Given that Indiana boasts Legion post locations in all 92 counties, amounting to nearly 370 post locations statewide www.IndianaLegion.org , I effectively facilitated cohesive communication and coordination across these extensive networks.I played a pivotal role in the strategic overhaul of administrative processes, spearheading the infusion of digital communication practices to forefront organizational operations. As the Department Adjutant, I assumed a multifaceted leadership role, spanning areas such as volunteer and employee management, comprehensive statewide public affairs and communications, effective local, state, and federal advocacy, seamless travel and logistical arrangements, efficient membership management, development of organizational forms, and crafting state-level solutions to organizational challenges.
