During an 8-year tenure at NSB Bangor, first employed as a Marketing Director for a subsidiary of the $2 billion Ogden-Allied corporation which held a one-of-a-kind contract to operate all off-duty activity (Morale, Welfare & Recreation- MWR) for Navy personnel and their families at the elite Trident Nuclear Submarine Base. This included all activity from restaurants/clubs to outdoor recreation to child care. Created in-house design and publications capability. During a contractor changeover, elected to become a U.S. Defense Department civilian employee in the contracts department at Bangor negotiating and administering this same contract for the Navy.
