About William Ellison

I'm a graduate of Yale University (BA '18) where I studied modern European History, with a focus on European diplomatic history. After graduation I worked for three years at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy think tank in Washington, DC, serving as research associate and personal assistant to Ambassador Dennis Ross. I'm now pursuing my Master of Arts in International Relations at Johns Hopkins' School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), with concentrations in security, strategy, and statecraft and Europe. I'm a strong believer in studying history in order to inform our understanding of the present and help us craft policy. My interests include US foreign policy, transatlantic relations, the US-Israel alliance, international order, the Napoleonic Wars and Congress of Vienna, the Pax Britannica, and the world wars. In addition to fluency in English, I have knowledge of French, Hebrew, and Spanish.
