Supported the operation of scientific data collection platform during field experiments. Designed and implemented a data acquisition system for an ocean wave mapping radar flown aboard a P3 aircraft. System was based on an IBM XT, CAMAC sampling hardware, and a 9-track tape drive. Software was written in C and assembly language. Maintained and operated AMMR, SMMR, and ESMR microwave radiometers for various NASA field missions including one to the North Pole. These instruments collected data from onboard NASA ER-2 and P3 aircraft. Integrated hardware and software for a remote sensing microwave radar data acquisition system. Wrote software in FORTRAN and assembly languages for computer control of a soil moisture research radar. Analyzed requirements and recommended hardware for NOAA's Search and Rescue Satellite Mission Control Center (SARSAT/USMCC). Hardware included terminal equipment for Coast Guard Rescue Centers and remote user terminals for remote job entry to an IBM 4381. -
