Manager, Desktop Products (1996-1997)Revived Zenith's desktop computer product line. Helped transition computer manufacturing from Zenith's own factory to Packard Bell. Developed the Zenith desktop computer and monitor product roadmap. Supervised the Product Managers who implemented the product roadmap. In an effort to reduce stock keeping units (SKU’s), discontinued nearly 3k active and inactive models. Launched two new desktop computer product lines and two new monitors.Systems Engineer (1988-1996)Led technical proposal efforts for government procurement ranging from $50M-500M. Managed hardware and software staff. Supervised development of technical volume for each proposal. Worked with sales, marketing, costing, training, and maintenance to develop bid solutions. Provided product information to factory and warehouse facilities to enable product delivery. Integrated ZDS computer systems with third party peripherals and software. Selected third party off-the-shelf peripherals and software based upon government requirements. Integrated and tested peripherals and software with ZDS CPU's.Diagnosed and corrected problems with 17k tape backup units sold to Department of Defense. Managed diagnostic facilities included 6 staff members, 12 computers, and 100 tape drives. Reduced the product failure rate by 75%.
