As Commissioner he made tremendous strides with building community respect and trust and reduced overall crime significantly in the City of Boston. He has handled major events such as Super Bowl parades, World Series events, and significant protests without issues and also played a major role in apprehending those responsible for the Boston Marathon bombing. Evans is passionate about running having completed 61 marathons and continues to enjoy this passion.
