This position involves Musculoskeletal assessment and exercise treatment. William also uses Manual Therapy and massage techniques as well as providing emergency acute care for all training sessions and Match day medical cover on game day.

During my time at Widnes I was able to gain an insight into working with professional players in an elite sport. This allowed my to enhance my massage therapy skills and learn new assessment and treatment techniques.

Salford

During my time at university I was heavily involved in the Rugby League club as well as occasionally filling in for other sporting teams. As well as being a player of the Rugby League team other roles which I undertook within the club included becoming club secretary during 2013-2014 season. This involved arranging transport and leasing with the students union in organising fixtures. During the 2014-2015 I was elected to become the club chairman. This role involved a variety of jobs, mainly consisted of supervising and advising the rest of the committee members and ensuring a smooth running for the club.

This placement involved the observation of assessment and treatment by an orthopedic consultant. I saw a wide variety of injuries which included fracture management and observation of surgical procedures.

Colwyn Bay

I attended RGC rugby for a month on a student placement working full time with the head physio.

I assisted the Tongan National Rugby League team during the Rugby League World Cup in England 2013. My main duty was to provide soft tissue massage to players. I also gained a huge insight into the treatment of international players during a large competition.

Wellington & Wairarapa, New Zealand

During my year at Scots I worked in a variety of roles. My main role was to assist with teaching P.E lessons to primary school children. My secondary role was to supervise and assist with the running of the boarding house. I also participated in coaching a variety of sports including rugby and cricket, as well as assisting in the organisation of outdoor activity camps for the students.
