About William Eves
I am an Assistant Professor in Law at the University of Nottingham, specialising in legal history. I first obtained an LLB in law (1st Class Hons), followed by an LLM in international law (Distinction). After a period working in the legal sector, I undertook an Mlitt in medieval history at the University of St Andrews (Distinction). I then completed a PhD in legal history, also at St Andrews.During the final year of my doctoral research I held a 6-month Scouloudi Junior Research Fellowship at the Institute of Historical Research (University of London). I then worked as an AHRC Cultural Engagement Fellow on a public engagement legal history project in the University of St Andrews School of History.From 2017-2021 I was a research fellow in the St Andrews Institute of Legal and Constitutional Research working on a ERC funded comparative legal history project (http://clicme.wp.st-andrews.ac.uk).Publications:Edited volumes:Common Law, Civil Law, and Colonial Law: Essays in Comparative Legal History from the 12th to the 20th Centuries (Cambridge, 2021), ed.
