Current• Lead engineering team through the development of a platform of medical laser imaging devices (VivaScope®), including a hand-held device for imaging skin and for use during surgery.• Design and build various opto-mechanical breadboard laser systems for academic research applications.• Coordinate and oversee the optical engineering for a confocal microscopy- optical coherence tomography imaging system in partnership with Physical Sciences Inc. (Andover, MA).• Co-develop a server based, DICOM compatible, HIPAA compliant medical image transfer, storage and retrieval system, similar to that used in radiology, for remote diagnosis of medical images.• Specify and configure servers, VPN tunnels, firewalls and computer systems for secure, remote image/data transfer system.• Design and launch secure medical image transfer system throughout the United States, Europe and Australia, connecting more than two-dozen physicians and hospital-based clinics worldwide.• Directly oversee FDA 510k approval process, CE mark, ISO 13485 and 9003 compliance processes.• Manage patent portfolio for over 45 national and international patents.• Locate, apply for and manage over $1 million in Federal grants with academic research centers such as Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and the University of Rochester.
