PowerVision was purchased by Alcon (HQ in Ft Worth TX). Post acquisition, I was invited to continue with the R & D team that was developing an intraocular lens (AIOL) in Belmont, CA. Our interdisciplinary team is focused on post implant adjustment (PIA) for AIOL. My role includes preparation & investigation of novel materials for PIA as well as the application & troubleshooting of those materials. Also conceptualization and documentation of intellectual property regarding PIA / AIOL materials.

Kateeva produces inkjet printing (IJP) manufacturing equipment for the production of OLED screen displays that are flat, curved or flexible. Pursued adaption of quantum dots (QDs) phosphors for their IJP production methods. Leveraged the technology developed during research on IJP of QD phosphors to other technologies and submitted invention disclosures regarding those applications.

I was one of five people on the initial nanocrystal phosphor team when I returned in March 2008 and helped develop QDEF. • Conceptualized and synthesized 7 novel polydentate oligomeric stabilization ligands for semiconductor nanocrystals, Coordinated those ligands onto nanocrystals- Built these ligands using 8 inexpensive starting materials such as styrene maleic anhydride copolymer, polyacrylic acid, trisilanol polyhedrial oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) and trichlorosilane- Applied classical organic synthesis techniques to produce oligomeric ligands functionalized with solubilizing groups and polydentate nanocrystal binding groups - Coordinated those novel ligands to Group II-VI and III-V semiconductor nanocrystals- Transferred multistep synthetic methodology for 7 novel organic compounds to specialty chemical manufacturers. • Filed 19 invention disclosures and assisted patent attorneys with technical assistance for filing patents, one patent issued was, QDEF, the product • Assisted other areas of the company with laboratory expertise and technical skill

A start up company dedicated to commercializing an antimicrobial compound to be used against gram positive & gram negative bacteria as well as mold. After about 18 months the company transformed into a veterinary care products company and now sells three products. - Conceptualized and synthesized of 4 novel bactericidal organic molecules - Responsible for scale up from milligram to multi-gram quantities for these compounds- Filed 2 invention disclosures and assisted patent attorneys with technical assistance

Start up company founded to “Commercialize the Promise of Nanotechnology” with 7 programs to apply nanocrystals and silicone nanowires into products• Prepared 3 types of nanocrystals from their zero oxidation state transition metal complexes• Designed and synthesized a single source precursor with novel organometallic ligands to prepare indium phosphide nanocrystals. - Designed ligands to release precursors in situ and at temperature for nanocrystal growth- Synthesized the ligands and provided full organic characterization- Coordinated the ligands to indium and phosphorous (separately) and provided full organometallic characterization- Spectroscopically characterized the indium to phosphorous bond of the single source precursor- Identified the expected decomposition products after nanocrystal formation by mass spectroscopy. - The organic components released strongly suggested that the expected pathway was occurring during nanocrystal formation
