Freddie's Flowers is a fast-growing, online flower weekly delivery service, a bit like the milkman but with flowers operating in the UK, Germany, Netherlands and the United States. My main responsibilities involved:- Managing the company’s ESG strategy and facilitating change.- Cabon organisational footprinting.- Product life-cycle assessments.- Auditing the social and environmental performance of our growers and other key suppliers.- Working with suppliers/broader industry to improve their sustainability performance- Developing partnerships and supporting organisations that are aligned to our values- B Corp certification While at Freddie's Flowers, I measured and had externally certified the company's operational emissions to the ISO 14064 standard and turned the business carbon neutral to the PAS 2060 standard. I also oversaw the company join a number key sustainability initiatives such as B-Corp and setting Science-Based Targets; along with the Floriculture Sustainability Initiative covering floral growers, wholesalers and retailers internationally.

A self-driven, electric boat rental company based on the canals of Amsterdam. I worked here part-time to supplement my income during my studies.My main responsibilities involved:- Ensuring customer satisfaction - Organising events, sales, marketing and bookings- Dealing with disputes- Staff training- General fleet maintenance

A concept start-up that grew out of a group university project to develop a new business model that would increase the take-up of green roofs in the Netherlands. Our idea was to adopt a subscription style service model, giving the customer piece of mind and increased ownership overtime. Following the project's completion, we were invited to pitch out idea at the European Green Week conference.

Involved with three urban agriculture organisations in Cape Town, South Africa. These included Abalimi Bezhekaya, Oranjezicht City Farm & Erf81. Key activities involved: teaching children, organising farmer meetings and focus groups, documenting urban agricultural food systems, GIS tracking and participatory crop planting.

A team led university research project exploring possible policy solutions for the City of Amsterdam to counter increasing photo-voltaic imbalances in energy supply and demand. We focused on how policies to promote schemes, such as vehicle-to-grid, smart grids and domestic energy storage can play in addressing this imbalance. A mixture of qualitative and quantitative methods was used to predict the long-term outcomes for each policy. The project was finalised by a report and presentation about our findings to a university panel.

A university project through the speed plus program at Keele University, UK to set up a start up company. The aim was to provide specialist Eco-friendly long board travel bags for the skate community. The program was made up if six months seminars and workshops from regional business leaders covering every thing from marketing, tax and cash flow. The company was eventually closed down due to the starting of a masters abroad.
