About William Gwin

I will always be there first even on my own time. In the Engineering world your brain is at it peak at 3:30 AM. Do not miss those times for about (4) hours you can do (10) hours of work. My objective for the past (42) years is to be the best I can be and will continue that objective until I retire. I have and have had many Mentors along the way that have helped me. I will never let one of those people down. I listened and learned from the best of the best. I have always shared what I was taught with younger people in the world of Engineering/Design and Construction. They are still out there and still doing well. Always design for the worst condition and if you are not having fun then make it fun. Always remember these words: There is and always be someone faster, smarter, more pretty and or handsome, etc. But when it all come down to the wire be the best of the best only you can do and remember you cannot do it alone. It take eyes open, mouth shut and listen to the greats and then you will be great.William W. Gwin, III

I am no longer with Ford Bacon & Davis Engineering. Though I must say it is one of the best Engineering firms I have ever been with. For me I had no issues along my path with other disciplines getting me the information I need complete my designs and hopefully they had no issues with me.It has come to my attention on my own that I have to say again what a great experience I had with Ford Bacon & Davis Engineering over the 3 years and 3 months that I worked there.Due to other economics in the design world the market for designing has gotten very lean to say the least. Most companies are feeling the impact of the uncertainty of the upcoming changes that may develop so some of those companies have slowed their capital project due to this. This has sent a lot of people home and me being one of them that I have found the design world has changed.I am a 2D Cad Design Expert in my own mind but 2D Design is no longer there. One has to change to the 3D world with softwares that I have heard of and some I have never heard of and quite frankly there are now so many how does one know which one to pick to learn? The "Job Shop" world has changed along with this and rightly so but that leaves me as an old dinosaur along with many others. All one can do is try to get another and not give up. There was a time..........But as Rocky says....."One More Shot at the Title". Show less
