I have lived multiple lives and developed a plethora of interests and experiences over time. I'm constantly driven to improve both myself and the lives of those around me, and that desire has pushed me out of my comfort zone through four countries and what's now manifesting as a third degree.So, first, I think it makes sense to talk about my research interests and where I stand as an academic (it's the main reason I'm in Manchester after all). I study medievalism (which, in short, is the study of the middle ages after the middles ages) and specifically how it ties into perceptions of chivalry and masculinity during the second half of the nineteenth century among the working classes. Mnemohistory and the history of nationalism are my best friends in that regard.Despite being an archive-heavy interest based in a historical period, I also prioritize knowledge transfer and try to incorporate my experiences into student-friendly lessons to better help secondary school students with English, media literacy, persuasive skills, and showing how their material can transfer to things that matter in their own lives (whether they're thinking of a future career or how to structure their TikTok comment argument). In terms of my marketing and sales experience, I am a highly driven and organised individual with a genuine interest in the industries people work in and cultivating good relationships based on mutual understanding. I'm marketing-focused, but with telesales and digital sales experience in the B2B sector for business management software. Ambitious, with a jack-of-all-trades mentality where the more you learn, the better services you can deliver. I am adept at working under pressure and specialize in product demos and acquiring outsourced talent from translators, video editors and producers, and graphic designers.
