During my time with Mount Isa Mines, I gained valuable on-site experience working within the Process Engineering team. The experience enhanced my understanding of project management and leadership, in addition to working within a professional team environment. The role involved working independently in an operations context, with a strong site safety focus. My primary deliverable was troubleshooting a particular operation within the wider process, which involved directly working with the operations team on the plant floor. This involved applying data analysis techniques using PI Processbook and Microsoft Excel and leading the development and undertaking of trial work, including providing direction to operation crews. I prepared a technical report summarising my findings and presented my recommendations to senior management. The responsibility of leading a project from start to finish was a particularly enjoyable and valuable aspect of this role.

Within my time at Sunshine Coast Council, I was exposed to a professional, team environment within the Civil Asset Management team. Skills developed include professional communication, working independently and time management. I was also able to expand upon Microsoft Excel skills. Primary responsibilities included data analysis, development of automated data management systems and working with GIS software.
