I was a Data Center intern in the IT department. Main role was to manage and populate DCIM software tool NLYTE. Advanced Excel, Python programming, data mining, and data base management was used to compile and format hardware data acquired from auditing and firm databases for NLYTE uploading. Other responsibilities included designing workflow diagrams that would integrate NLYTE into the proposed Inventory workflow and discover/format the API commands that would be necessary to implement NLYTE with current and new firm tools. Additionally, I would design floor plans of the physical layout of DCs on NLYTE, create biweekly status reports of the current population of the software for upper management, and generate sample report forms to be integrated into the new workflows.

I was an intern in the Laboratory of Genetics at the NIA working under Post-Doc Amaresh Panda and PI Myriam Gorospe. My research focused on studying the role and distribution of Circular RNAs in total and cytoplasmic and nuclear components of growing and differentiated mice C1C12 muscle cells. I presented my project titled “Nuclear and Cytoplasmic Localization of Circular RNA in Myoblasts” at the NIH and NIA summer poster days. My project involved cell culturing and differentiation,pipetting, cell fractionation, RNA isolation, RNA to cDNA transformation, RT-qPCR, data analysis,Western Blotting, gel electrophoresis, primer design, and sequencing.

I worked at the NYU Global Institute of Public Health/NYU Tandon School of Engineering for Professor Rumi Chunara on numerous projects. My primary project was a model that tried to predict the number of Syphilis cases that result from men who have sex with men who use geo social networks to find sexual partners. I used survey data to come up with statistics, plots, graphs, regressions and performed data analysis in Excel and R to obtain better estimates of parameters that were implemented in an existing differential equation model. I also enhanced the accuracy of the model by adjusting the equations and introducing other factors that are relevant to the transmission of the disease. I co-wrote a paper with professor Chunara titled "Accounting for Geosocial-Networking Smartphone Application Use by Men Who Have Sex with Men (MSM) in Models of Urban Syphilis Incidence” currently under review for Nature.

Project H.E.L.P Volunteer.My job consisted of presenting an activity to parents in the pediatrics waiting room called “Important Information about my Child’s Medicine”. Some of the material I went over consists of what information is on a prescription, Patient Information Sheet, medicine label, dosing and important questions about children’s medicine.
