I research and implement novel, state-of-the-art computational physics models of spacecraft in their interactions with planetary atmospheres, exospheres, and surfaces, and develop strategies to ensure NASA's scientific missions and instrument payloads perform to their design specifications while under operation.I lead analysis efforts and own flight project deliverables quantifying the interactions of spacecraft with their natural and induced environments – and associated risks incurred to engineering and science objectives – across engineering disciplines at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).I support a uniquely challenging portfolio of flight projects and proposals including NASA’s Europa Clipper, Mars 2020, Psyche, and NEO Surveyor missions; Europa Lander and Mars Sample Return concepts; and external collaborations with commercial spaceflight and lunar landing service providers.
