Design and run experiments on surgery techniques and surgery training and analyze data to assess effectiveness and identify best methodologies, working with physicians, residents, lab techs, patients, and stakeholders. • Developed a comprehensive design of experiments for the Minimal Invasive Surgical Lab at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine to quantify residency students’ improvements. Conducted A/B testing to evaluate different training methodologies. • Utilized a combination of multiple data sources (video, kinematic, flat, qualitative) to quantify points of weakness and strengths in residents training. • Enhanced the training programs and improving overall surgical performance for residents through the use of computer vision, machine learning, and natural language processing (NLP).
