I have been a part of Canada’s leading commercial real estate financing team for the past seven years. First National Financial is Canada's largest non-bank lender. As the number one lender of CMHC commercial mortgages, First National currently has more than $100 billion in mortgages under administration.In 2013, I began my career at First National in residential customer service. After a year, I moved into commercial administration and then transitioned to working with team McAuley. Starting in the call centre, talking to and servicing clients every day helped me understand my communication style, honed my listening skills and improved my problem solving. Now, when I am doing analysis and presenting it, it is important to be mindful of how clients want to consume information. I am constantly challenged to translate quantifiable, complex numbers into a relatable business story that makes sense. In the past three years, I’ve had unique opportunities to look at so many different types of properties, and the constant learning and dynamism keeps me incredibly motivated. I’m taking on more responsibility within the team, and am always incredibly supported in my ambition and evolution. Autonomy is a critical part of the overall First National culture, as well as our team culture. I am free to determine how I accomplish things, and then we refine them collaboratively.
