William served as a sergeant in the US Army. He worked as a Patriot system repairer. He was responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing multiple radars, control stations, Identification Friend or Foe processors, launchers, fiber optic cables, and antenna masts. When not working on the systems, he was responsible for the soldiers under him, a full set of test equipment, and multiple vehicles.Upon completing his tour of duty, William began working with BioFire Diagnostics (a bioMerieux company) in Salt Lake City, Utah. His primary responsibility was the manufacturing of the FilmArray and Torch medical instruments. He assisted with improving the process workflow by rewriting work instructions and reorganizing work stations to smooth production transitions. After a short break to take a heavier course load in college, William returned to BioFire Diagnostics, servicing and repairing customer medical instruments before accepting a position as an engineering technician.As an engineering technician, William was talked with supporting and providing technical training to repair technicians, assisting in V&V testing, developing and 3D printing numerous jigs and quality of life products in support of repair center operations.While working at BioFire Diagnostics, William attended the University of Utah, earning a BS in Electrical Engineering in Fall 2024. His senior project was assisting the Formula U team set up the high voltage systems for an electric race car. As the high voltage team lead, he opted to delay his graduation to transfer knowledge to the incoming students.
