I worked with AGM, a battery developer based in Thurso, to develop a battery management system. For this project I had to conduct academic research into key elements of the BMS such as the communication interface and data storage. After the research was completed, I had to generate design proposals for the above elements, based on key design requirements generated from discussions with AGM.

I worked with a team of fellow design students for a start-up company named Taste of Sports limited. The company asked us to develop a portable sports facility for children in impoverished areas to reduce child obesity levels. This project involved a large amount of research, design development and concept presentation all of which improved my ability to produce comprehensive designs.

Over a period of ten weeks I worked for a research team at Strathclyde University which aimed to establish new and improved techniques for utilising patent information in the design process. As part of this internship I had to conduct an extensive literature and market review into relevant technologies in addition to designing a new patent workflow. This greatly enhanced my design research, presentation and communication skills.
