Responsible for proving excellent customer service. I encouraged the team to go above and beyond for the guest in order to establish a relationship and create future business by gaining loyal guests. Building that trust makes it more compelling for the guest to take advantage of our in store credit/rewards program. I had a responsibility for setting and achieving both storewide and personal sales goals weekly, daily and monthly, while making sure the store was always at its best visually. Teammates were guided to stay on track to refold and replenish the stock between guests. Also as a lead, I was entrusted with closing and opening responsibilities. We were based on commission which made it very competitive but it was still important that everyone reached their goal. I encouraged team effort to support each other which reflected positively in creating happy and loyal guests. I also was in charge of the store location’s Instagram account.

During the summer of 2015 I was fortunate enough to be one out of the few chosen to participate in the retail management internship through Nordstrom at the Roosevelt field mall in Garden City New York. I was assigned the sportswear department. I would work the sales floor part time on commission. During this time we would be expected to provide outstanding customer service, build relationships with guests and reach sales goals. During our time on the floor we were expected to work with the department manager and learn how to successfully run a department. This would include making schedules, handling customer issues and concerns, keeping the team on task while achieving department sale goals. During the time we were not working the sales floor we would be attending meetings with our store manager along with store managers from other Nordstrom stores in NY and NJ and the east coast regional manager. We also met with buyers, marketing directors and others from the corporate office. During the meetings they taught us what it takes to do their job, the steps to take if we wanted to get to that position and much more.
