I use to work for UTC Fire & Security but they relocated to Poland and China. The fire panels and accessories went to Poland and all the fire detectors went to China. I went to Poland twice after retrenchment to show the Polish team how the test equipments operates. Showed them how to setup the equipment. I went there to show how to produce and test products. How to setup there production lines and all the procedures on how to manufactor various products. I am currently seeking employment. When I started at the company, 27 years, the company's was Fire Fite. In 1987 the name changed to Ziton. In 2001 the name changed to EST. In 2005 the name changed to GE Security and in 2009 the name changed to UTC Fire and Security.I was a prodction Supervisor for the first 10 years and I worked on various lines over these years. Amongst other things I trained people how to assemble and test fire detectors and panels. Eventually I ended up in the SMT department where I was responsible for about 40 operators. Later I became responsible for the operation and repair of the Pick & Place machines and Heller ovens.I got a promotion to the Test lab where I became the Lead tester. I was responsible for the testing of all fire panel softwares, fire detectors (hardware and software), all computer applications that interface with the fire panels and detectors for example Maestro and Planner. I was also responsible for the testing of all fire panel accessories. This included the testing of Input/Output boards, panel printers and gas extinguisher panels.In 2009 the entire engineering team was retrenched and was given employment by the factory for my expertise. I was reponsible for lead and unleaded hand solder training for the entire factory.
