I assist the Fund with the Executive Branch, U.S. Congress, and non-governmental organizations regarding federal conservation policy and funding opportunities. I work with Southeastern Congressional delegations to conserve fish and wildlife habitat; improve hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreation access; promote sustainable economic development; and preserve America’s cultural history. I am the Fund’s lead realty liaison with grant programs within the USDA-Forest Service (such as the Forest Legacy Program), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Policy consultant in the areas of congressional authorizations, budget and appropriations, and administrative actions in the following issue areas: outdoor recreation, environmental restoration and remediation, wildlife habitat, agriculture, natural resource conservation, renewable and clean energy, oceans, forestry, fisheries, historic preservation, federal lands, National Parks, water infrastructure, water supply and conservation, and sustainable community development.Skills employed include lobbying; legislative drafting and tracking; facilitating client relations and meetings with Members of Congress, Administrative Officials, and their staff; coalition building; drafting and circulating memorandums and coalition sign-on letters; preparing and submitting reports to inform decision making.My legislative achievements include assistance with the enactment of the Great American Outdoors Act, Preserving Americas Battlefields Act, and the Modernizing Recreational Fisheries Act, securing $11 billion for abandoned mine land restoration as well as $2 billion for the retrofit, removal, and rehabilitation of dams in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021, and the establishment of the Department of Agriculture’s Working Wetlands program. I have also routinely helped to secure robust federal funding in the areas of recreation access and wildlife conservation throughout five appropriations cycles.
